Kitting refers to compiling separate but related products in a ready-to-ship kit. This saves a lot of time, and cost for the sellers and streamlines order fulfillment. For example, when a customer orders a computer, he may also order a mouse, hard disk, headphones, etc. In such cases, all these products are shipped in a single piece rather than shipping them separately.

PAN card

The Permanent Account Number, or PAN, is a method of identifying taxpayers in the country. The PAN card is a unique alphanumeric identification number, consisting of 10 digits that are assigned to Indian citizens, particularly those who are required to pay taxes.

3PL

3PL refers to outsourcing order fulfillment to a third party. This includes inventory management, warehousing, and shipping. This allows eCommerce sellers to manage their shipments without owning heavy assets.



Freigth Charges

Freigth Charges refer to the cost of movement of shipments from the origin destination to drop destiation. This is function of the weight of the shipment and the distnace travelled. Zones are used as proxies for distance travelled while calculating freight charges and the shipping weight (max of dead and volumteric weight) is used as the metric to measure weight of shipments



Transit Insurance

Transit insurance is a type of insurance policy that provides coverage for business goods or personal belongings during transportation from one location to another. Such policies typically offer protection from the moment the goods are loaded onto the specified mode of conveyance (such as a truck) until they reach the destination declared on the policy.


